Am I right in thinking that she headed this train after coming back from overhaul or something? You mentioned something about that earlier in another shot you had of 'Lizzie' at Preston.

In maroon L.M.S livery if I'm not very much mistaken. Fine locomotive...

Yes. She failed coming down from carlisle I think and had to stop at Carnforth to be repaired. Hauling this train was simply an exercise to get her back home to Bury.

its good she made it back, we dont want her failing and ening up like poor old green arrow. she is gorgeous, from the other shot of her in the dark i thought she was black, pleasant maroon paintscheme she has thar!
